About Textbooks

The University Store is your official resource for course materials.  We offer textbooks through our new online bookstore.  The University Store WILL NOT have textbooks available for purchase in-store, but you can place orders through the online bookstore at any time during the semester.  Orders with in-stock items will ship within 24 hours of placement.  When you use the online bookstore you can:

  1. Search for required course materials by course number: Never second-guess if you're getting the right textbooks!  The online bookstore pulls textbook information directly from the information provided by your professors.
  2. Choose the textbook type that works for you: You'll see new, used, and ebook (if available) options.
  3. Shop around for the best price: The online bookstore marketplace will show you the University Store's price, along with the prices and expected delivery dates of your textbooks from applicable vendors like Amazon, Half.com, and more.
  4. See your guaranteed buyback price: When you buy your textbooks from the University Store, you're guaranteed to get a certain amount back if you choose to resell at the end of the semester.
  5. Choose your preferred delivery method: You can choose to have you books delivered to you, or pick them up at the University Store when you arrive on campus.  All orders containing in-stock items will be shipped to you or the store within 24 hours of placement.

Stress-free book buying begins HERE.

Course Packets are published and printed at Carnegie Mellon University for the express use of Carnegie Mellon students.  Due to their custom nature, they are only available for sale at the University Store, and are non-returnable.  You can visit the lower level of the University Store to buy course packets.
