Student Cap and Gown Information

Purchase a Cap & Gown

Visit The University Store’s Lower Level during regular hours,

Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.– 5 p.m., to purchase your regalia.

If you’re not in the Pittsburgh area, a friend can purchase regalia on your behalf. Please make sure they have the following information:

Your height (needed for gown sizing)
If you’re a master’s student, the correct hood color for your program — or your Andrew ID

Regalia will be available for purchase during Commencement Weekend, May 8–10, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The University Store's Lower Level.

Ordering Cap & Gown Online

Please click here to order your cap and gown. Regalia orders are handled by our cap & gown vendor, Oak Hall. Any questions about your order should be sent directly to Oak Hall. Regalia orders can be placed until April 2, 2026 to be shipped directly to you. No online regalia orders can be placed after that date. You may also stop by The University Store's Lower Level during regular hours to purchase your regalia.

Custom Regalia

Deadline to place Custom Regalia for

May 8-10, 2026 Commencement is February 23, 2026

Some PhD students prefer to purchase custom regalia. We recommend this option for those who plan to attend numerous ceremonies that require academic regalia. If you'd like to order custom regalia, please visit our Custom Regalia page. Please note, there is a 8-10 week lead time for custom orders. Orders are placed directly with our regalia vendor, Oak Hall. Please contact Oak Hall directly with any questions about your order.
