Textbook Return Policy

We have changed our textbook return policy. Students can now return a book for a class he/she has dropped within the first 10 days of classes at no penalty. After the first 10 days of classes, students can return a book for a dropped class and receive 75 percent of the original price paid. The textbook manager at the store will verify that the course has been dropped. A cash register receipt must accompany all textbook returns. Previously, textbook returns were allowed only within the first five days of class. This will still be the policy for textbook returns for any other reason than dropped courses. All other return policies remain unchanged. Those policies are:
- NEW and USED textbooks must be returned within 5 days of the official first day of classes for all terms.
- A valid cash register receipt and a valid Carnegie Mellon ID Card must accompany ALL TEXTBOOK RETURNS.
- NEW textbooks must be in original purchase condition.
- DO NOT WRITE IN ANY NEW TEXTBOOK until you are certain there is no need for a return.
- Refunds will be given in original form of payment.
- Sale items and special-order books are not returnable.
- Textbooks are not returnable if shrink-wrap is broken or disks are used or missing.
- Course packets, CDs and Electronic Media are nonreturnable.

Faculty Authors

The Bookstore is proud to offer a large section both in-store and online devoted to Faculty Authors. We would be happy to offer for sale books you have authored or co-authored that are currently in print.
If you have written a book or if a title is scheduled for an upcoming release, please let us know. Please also notify the Bookstore when a musical CD of yours is released.
On the first floor of the Bookstore is a section dedicated to showcasing our university authors and performers. Also, the Bookstore would like to host Faculty Author reading or signing events to promote your work and new releases. If you would like to participate or need additional details please contact Matt Senvisky at 412-268-2967. |

access to caps, gowns and hoods. Year round the Bookstore staff can assist you with ordering and renting the regalia. We have ability to order the
Masters or Ph.D. hoods from approximately 1,500 national colleges and universities and most large foreign universities.
