WHO WE ARE

The University Store is independently owned and operated by Carnegie Mellon University. We strive to serve our community with products and services to support the University's mission of collaboration and creativity. Located in the Cohon University Center, the stores sell a variety of products including branded clothing and gifts, art and stationery supplies, and technology. Stop by on your next visit to campus or place your order for CMU merch online.


ORDERS

Shipping

We process online orders for shipping Monday through Friday. Please allow 1–2 business days for order processing during normal periods; during busy times, processing may take longer.

Our standard shipping method is UPS Ground, with options for UPS Expedited (2-Day Air) and UPS Overnight Air for domestic shipments. Please note that all expedited shipping is delivered the next business day after processing.

UPS Overnight Air requires a custom shipping quote. A member of The University Store team will contact you to confirm the quote before your order is processed.

We ship via UPS or USPS, depending on the recipient’s location, and international shipments are considered on a case-by-case basis. For international shipping inquiries, please email [email protected]. For full pricing and shipping details, please see our Shipping Policy.

 

Pick Up In Store

Please allow up to 24 hours for us to receive and process your items. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your order is ready for pickup—orders cannot be picked up until that email has been received. Pickup for all online orders is located on the Upper Level of The University Store.

 


Department Orders

All department orders should be placed through our Department Ordering LinkDepartments may choose to pick up their order from The University Store when it is ready, or have it sent through campus mail for a delivery charge. Department orders with multiple “ship to” addresses will be shipped through Tartan Ink (UPS service). Shipping charges will originate from Tartan Ink, and they will provide tracking information directly to the department.

SERVICES 

E-Gift Cards

E-gift cards are delivered instantly by email and can be purchased online in set increments. They are valid for in store and online purchases . If you need a custom amount, you’re welcome to call us at 412-268-1032 or stop by during business hours. Partial balances remain on the original card, and we do not issue new reference numbers. Lost or stolen e-gift cards cannot be replaced. If an item purchased with an e-gift card is returned, the refund will be issued to a new gift card or gift certificate.

 

Physical Gift Cards

Physical gift cards are available for purchase online in set increments and can be used in-store or online. You may choose to pick them up in-store or have them shipped for a flat rate of $8.99. For custom amounts, please contact us at 412-268-1032 or visit The University Store during business hours. Like e-gift cards, partial balances remain on the original card and will not be reissued. Lost or stolen physical gift cards cannot be replaced. Returns for items purchased with a physical gift card will be refunded to a new gift card or gift certificate.

 

Departments interested in purchasing gift cards should contact The University Store directly for assistance.
